Rurality as a factor in police violence

Little is currently known about how institutionalized police violence may or may not vary with spatial differences such as rurality or regionality. In this thesis, Burgmeier and Thompson partner with Campaign Zero’s Mapping Police Violence project to determine what effects rurality has on incidents of death related to police interactions and to see whether the same trends apply to police misconduct.
